This is Album #5/20 that I listened to for my 2020 challenge. I listened to this album 8 times for my review.
Here are some quick stats about Walking Like We Do by The Big Moon:
Album #2
Released January 10, 2020 (Last album release 2017)
Album length: 41:15, 11 tracks
Doesn't appear to have charted on the US Billboard 200
Genre: Indie rock
Metacritic score: 79/100
I thought this album was okay. There wasn't anything too unique about it that stood out to me. The songs also sounded pretty similar to each other, when listening to the full album.
Here's the track list:
It's Easy Then
Your Light*
Dog Eat Dog
Why*
Don't Think
Waves
Holy Roller
Take A Piece
Barcelona
A Hundred Ways To Land
ADHD
The few that I liked better or worse are noted in the track list breakdown above. A random thought I had was that their sound kind of reminds me of HAIM. Also I don't like the band name "The Big Moon" for some reason. There weren't really any standouts on this album that I really disliked or liked. I found the album pretty boring.
It's hard to find information on whether they wrote their own songs. They play their own instruments, so I am going to assume that they wrote their own songs.
I would probably give this album a 5/10 rating. I thought it was okay, it just verged on the boring side. There weren't even really any standout songs for me (good or bad). I could see myself coming back to listen to this album occasionally. I'm not intrigued enough to go back and listen to their first album. If they release a third album I may listen to it if I have time and hear about it, but I probably won't go out of my way looking for it.
Have you listened to this album? Let me know your thoughts.
