This is Album #9/20 that I listened to for my 2020 challenge. I listened to this album 8 times for my review.
Here are some quick stats about The Slow Rush by Tame Impala:
I liked this album. I didn't know what to expect at all and I was pleasantly surprised. Here's a track list breakdown:
One More Year
Instant Destiny*
Borderline
Posthumous Forgiveness*
Breathe Deeper*
Tomorrow's Dust
On Track*
Lost In Yesterday
Is It True
It Might Be Time
Glimmer
One More Hour
(Bold- dislike, *- like)
One bad thing about this album is that I can't really attach any of the songs to any of the song names, and they can blend together a little bit. It definitely took me awhile to get into it, I thought it was a little boring at first. But by the end I was able to recognize and enjoy a lot of the songs. I like that this style is very unique. I can't really think of anything else to compare it to. I like the vibe of this whole album.
Kevin Parker writes all the songs. He also appears to do some of the instrumentation. That's always something I look at when evaluating the creativity and artistic integrity of an album.
There aren't really any songs specifically that stand out enough for me to put them on my personal playlist, but I will definitely go back and listen to this album again in the future. I may go back and listen to previous albums. I will definitely keep an eye out for future albums. I would give this a 6/10.
