This is Album #17/20 that I listened to for my 2020 challenge. I listened to this album 8 times for my review.
Here are some quick stats about Healer by Grouplove:
There is no Wikipedia page for this album, so the above stats are gathered from the information that I could find.
I thought this album was really good! "Deleter" is my jam. It's probably one of my favorite songs that I have listened to for my 2020 challenge. I'll definitely be adding that song to my playlists. There weren't any other standout songs for me, but I did generally like them all. There aren't any songs that I hated. There was a good variety between songs, none sound the same and there's a good change in tempo and instrumentation. The album sounds like a throwback to 2013 Indie Rock, which I love. It's a throwback in a good way that doesn't feel outdated, it just feels kinda nostalgic. Another thing that's interesting is that there are multiple lead singers. I like the variety it gives to have different types of voices between songs or within songs.
There's no Wikipedia page for this album, but I'm going to assume that they write their own songs and play their own music. Which I always love and appreciate.
Recommendations:
Listen or don't listen? Listen.
Buy or don't buy? Don't buy.
I think I would give this album a 6.5/10. I thought it was definitely a solid album. I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did. I'll probably look out for their future work. And I will probably go back and listen to their old albums.
Have you listened to this album? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
