Album Review: Bigger Love | John Legend

This is album #39/20 that I listened to for my 20 for 2020 challenge. I listened to this album 8 times for my review.

This album was pretty average for me. I don’t think there were any songs that I particularly hated or loved. There were no stand out tracks either way. John Legend’s voice is amazing though. His voice is so good, but I don’t think the songs felt up to par. The album felt static and too similar going from song to song. I honestly was pretty bored listening to the album in full.

As always, I appreciate that Legend had a hand in writing each of the songs. He is listed as a songwriter on each song (in addition to 3-4 other writers typically).

I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this album for people to listen to. It wasn’t anything special in my opinion. I love his voice, and I’d definitely still be interested in listening to his previous and future works. I probably won’t ever go back to listening to this album in full, and there aren’t really any specific songs that I will come back to either. I’d give this album a 5/10.
