I liked this album. It thought it was a really cool throwback to decades past. I think it's really interesting the type of music he's putting out. It's very unique.
Here's a breakdown of the tracklist:
hey rose*
about her. again.
mahalia
bbbaby
suffer*
that's the way
3rd eye weeping
don't wait up
belladonna
o clever one
neve give up
after all (i must be wrong)
(bold- dislike, *- like)
My favorite song was definitely "hey rose." I also really like "suffer." There weren't any songs that I specifically disliked. I instantly liked the style and vibe of this album. Especially "hey rose" is very groovy, 60s gogo dancer kind of vibe. That's how I would describe it. Its really cool that there's modern music doing this throwback style. It's very creative and well done. His voice works perfectly with the music too. The one criticism I would have is that there were only those two standout songs for me. The rest sounded pretty similar to one another. There wasn't too much variety in the songs on this album.
There isn't much information on his Wikipedia page that describes whether he writes his own work. I'm going to assume that he does.
I would definitely recommend people to give this album a chance. Especially if you love a bit of 60s/70s throwback. I will definitely be looking out for his future albums. I will eventually probably also go back and listen to his previous albums. I'd give this a 7/10.
