TV Show: Homecoming, Season 2

This was TV show #15/20 (#20 overall) that I watched for my 20 for 2020 Challenge. Season 2 was released on Amazon Prime on May 22, 2020.

I really love this show. It has such a unique style and aesthetic. It has these retro 1960s/1970s vibes, while at the same time feeling kind of futuristic and dystopic. Janelle Monáe and Hong Chau give great performances. The entirety of the cast is fantastic.

I have to admit I had really low expectations for this season. I really loved the first season. I had no idea they were even making a second season. I thought this would be a limited series with the first season being the only entry. I knew the first season was based off of a podcast and whenever shows deviate from the source material it usually goes downhill so fast and its obvious to see that sudden drop in quality (think The Handmaid's Tale, 13 Reasons Why, and Game of Thrones). I was pleasantly surprised with Season 2 of Homecoming. I think it was just as good as the first season. The story is so interesting and I love seeing the thread of the season develop. I don't think I have any complaints about this show at all.

I would highly recommend this show to everyone! The story is so interesting and original, the cast is great, the film style and aesthetics are breaktaking and it's such a quick watch. I think this show is as perfect as a show can get and doesn't get the attention and respect it deserves. I feel like its such a hidden gem. I would give this show a 10/10. Have you watched this show?
