Movie Review: Come To Daddy

This was movie #7/20 (#19 overall) that I watched for my 20 for 2020 Challenge. This movie was released in the US on February 7, 2020. It was originally released in 2019 at the Tribeca Film Festival. Depending on the source some places call it a 2019 release and some call it a 2020 release. I really can't tell which is the correct year to use. Wikipedia, various articles, and IMDb say the movie is a 2019 release; Rotten Tomatoes, various movie trailers and Amazon Prime say the movie is a 2020 release. It seems like it could go either way, but I am going to go with when I first would have been able to watch it, which would have been 2020 when it was released in theaters in the US. This is why I will be counting it as a 2020 release for my 2020 Challenge, just to clear that up.

I really liked the movie! I'm always on the lookout for new 2020 releases to watch, since they can be pretty hard to find these days. I had been hearing a lot of buzz around this movie lately and found that it was available on Amazon Prime, and decided to watch it. I didn't really know to to expect. I didn't know anything about it which I think was a good way to go into it.

I don't think I have much to say about this movie (which is a good sign; I usually don't have much to say when I thought it was a good movie). It was an entertaining ride, and I loved seeing where it would go next. I think Elijah Wood was great. The whole cast was pretty great. There were a few unexpected funny moments. I thought the house and environment they shot in was just really cool looking. The movie was the perfect length, with perfect pacing. I was really interested to see where the story would take me.

I would definitely recommend this movie to everyone (at least to all audiences that can watch a Rated R movie). I think it is short and sweet and is very entertaining. I'd give it a 7/10. Have you seen this movie? I'd love to hear your thoughts down below.
