This was movie #15/20 (#30 overall) that I watched for my 20 for 2020 challenge. This movie has a similar problem as Come To Daddy, a movie I watched earlier this year. Banana Split initially premiered in 2018, but was released digital/on-demand on March 27, 2020. Some sources consider it a 2018 movie, some consider it a 2020 movie. I’m just going to call it a 2020 movie, and count it toward my 2020 challenge. Below is my brief review.
I really liked this movie! I thought it was really cute. I thought it was an original story, where the ex-girlfriend and the current girlfriend became friends and kept it a secret from the boyfriend. I really liked seeing a movie like this where the focus was on the friendship between two women. I thought both the actresses, Hannah Marks and Liana Liberato, were great. I liked April’s sassiness and the insults that she would come up with. I also really liked the friend, Ben, played by Luke Spencer Roberts. And I, of course, liked that Dylan Sprouse was in the movie. He was one of the main reasons why I decided to watch this movie. He was really funny and had really great facial reactions. I also thought the movie had a good soundtrack.
That’s about all I have to say about the movie. I just thought it was really cute. I’d give this movie a 7/10. If you’ve watched this movie, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments down below.
